Firehouse 12 is pleased to present trumpeter and composer Jeremy Pelt and his Sextet as they celebrate the release of their latest album Jeremy Pelt, The Artist (Highnote Recordings) which features compositions inspired by the sculptures of artist August Rodin.

Pelt has been called "a technical marvel. He executes intricate solos with ease, plays gorgeous ballads in a tasteful manner, and never lacks flair or sensitivity (Ron Wynn, JazzTimes). "Pelt pushes the brass envelope as much as possible and can engage a listener quite well" (Matt Collar, All Music Guide). Pelt "is a respectful guardian of the jazz tradition and a blossoming composer in his own right" (Ralph Mirello, Notes on Jazz).

Jeremy Pelt has become one of the preeminent young trumpeters within the world of jazz. As a leader, Pelt has recorded ten albums and has toured globally with his various ensembles, appearing at many major jazz festivals and concert venues. Pelt's recordings and performances have earned him critical acclaim, both nationally and internationally. He has been featured in the Wall Street Journal by legendary jazz writer and producer, Nat Hentoff, and was voted Rising Star on the trumpet, five years in a row by Downbeat Magazine and the Jazz Journalist Association.
