Firehouse 12 is pleased to present guitarist and composer Nick Millevoi and Desertion Trio featuring Johnny DeBlase on electric bass and Jason Nazary on drums. The group will be performing compositions both from their LP Twilight Time and Millevoi's recently released Streets of Philadelphia Songbook, a print music release featuring 25 of the guitarist's original compositions.

Noisey described the band’s sound as “supremely weird desert noir,” and NPR Music said the band “hits the sweet spot between Neil Young's exploratory Crazy Horse jams and a spaghetti western soundtrack.” Bandcamp Daily called their album Midtown Tilt a “manifestation of the rapid-fire chemistry” of the band, while Downbeat Magazine selected the album as an Editor’s Pick, and Rolling Stone described Twilight Time as “warmly nostalgic and potently surreal,” calling their version of the title track, “a stakes-raising celebration of the song’s eerie emotional pull.”

Nick Millevoi is a guitarist and composer whose music searches for the sonic cracks between jazz, rock and roll, noise, and modern composition. Nick was a co-leader of the power trio Many Arms, releasing five full-length records, including two for John Zorn’s Tzadik label, and was one half of the duo Archer Spade, along with trombonist Dan Blacksberg, which has performed composed works by Derek Bailey, Mick Barr, Roscoe Mitchell, Dave Soldier, Gene Coleman, and many others. Nick is a member of Moppa Elliott’s Unspeakable Garbage; has performed John Zorn’s Bagatelles as a co-leader of the Hollenberg-Millevoi Quartet (with guitarist Matt Hollenberg). In addition to these longer standing collaborations, Nick has performed with Mostly Other People Do the Killing, Dead Neanderthals, Nels Cline, Marc Ribot, Jamaaladeen Tacuma, and Fugazi’s Joe Lally.
