Co-founded by Firehouse 12's founder and chief engineer Nick Lloyd and acclaimed cornetist/composer Taylor Ho Bynum, Firehouse 12 Records was created to "present creative music in its native environment."
The label had a busy and successful 2009. It saw the release of Sided Silver Solid from Carl Maguire's Floriculture, bassist/composer John Hebert's long-awaited debut as a bandleader, Byzantine Monkey, Taylor Ho Bynum and SpiderMonkey Strings's Madeleine Dreams, and Bill Dixon's Tapestries for Small Orchestra.
2010 has started out with the release of The Whole Tree Gone by Myra Melford's Be Bread. Later this year we will be releasing Saturn Sings, Mary Halvorson's highly anticipated follow-up to her 2008 debut trio record Dragon's Head.
